What is the Difference Between Dining-, Bar-, and Counter-Height?
Dining furniture typically comes in three height options: standard, counter, and bar. Standard dining tables are lowest to the ground, typically between 28- and 32-inches tall. The seat height of standard dining chairs is between 16 and 20 inches.
Counter furniture is slightly taller—table heights measure 34–37 inches high; counter chairs stand around 24–27 inches from floor to seat.
Bar height is the tallest option of dining furniture available, with tables standing between 40 and 42 inches tall, and chair seat heights ranging from 28 to 32 inches.
